I often think of the wonderful words in John's Gospel chapter fourteen, our dear Lord Jesus has gone before us and His Spirit is with us as our comforter. The word comforter' is translated from the Greek word, parakletos' it means one called along side to help'.So we are moving forward to meet our Father God, our Lord Jesus has gone before and His divine Spirit is helping us on our way.Now our Lord Jesus, according to the teaching we have in that magnificent chapter in John's Gospel, is right now, at this very moment, preparing a place for each one of His redeemed folk in glory, we are going to be in a mansion, a mansion as stated in the older versions of the Scriptures. This mansion is being prepared for us by our dear Lord Jesus, He always did e verything, when He was here in time, in such a wonderful way so our mansion' will go beyond anything we could imagine- what a mansion' it will be!
In 1 John c3 v2 we are told that, We shall be like Him', as I understand we will be like Him, but not identical, this is because He will always be supreme, due to who He is.This being taught in the fourth chapter of the Philippians, where we see that, He is Lord to the glory of God the Father', He will be confessed by every tongue'.Yes, everyone will come to that point when he or she will have to answer that vital question, which was first put to Peter, when Jesus asked, What think ye of Christ?'Our eternal destiny will be fixed upon our reply, -the way we confess Him
So Jesus is preparing a place for you, me and all His redeemed people in glory, in that eternal realm, whilewe give Him a place in our lives now.Our Father God has done so much for us, He gave His all through our Lord Jesus, He has nothing more to give in our salvation, this is taught in Hebrews c1 v2, so we, while here, should serve Him.We should first of all serve our God through the worship of our redeemed hearts and that should be the first work of our lives. The hymnist Graham Kendrick put it well, when he said
This is our God, the Servant King,
He calls us now to follow Him,
To bring our lives as a daily offering
Of worship to The Servant King
We have nothing, in ourselves, to bring to our God.Again the hymnist put it correctly when he said, Not hing in my hands I bring, simply to Thy Cross I cling',then I have to think hard when singing the words of that great hymn writer Charles Westley, who wrote, Till we cast our crowns before Thee, lost in wonder, love and praise', what crown have I to cast before the Master? My only crown is that of our dear Lord Jesus in the glory of His that should be, should be expressed in my life
Yes, our dear Lord Jesus is preparing a place for every one of His redeemed folk in glory, while we give Him a place in our lives now, it is for Him that we, Live, move and have our being'.Everything in our lives, whether at worship, school, college, work or in retirement, should be relative to The Master. What a difference this would make in this country, in the Christian Assemblies, industry, education and the health service if that was so forus all, the balance of payments would be a different story DSET z &
