Our Mansion

I often think of the wonderful words in John's Gospel chapter fourteen. Our dear Lord Jesus has gone before us and His Spirit is within us as our Comforter. The word 'Comforter' is translated from the Greek word 'parakeets' which means, 'One called alongside to help'. As we believer we are moving forwards towards our Father God, our Lord Jesus has gone before us and His Divine Spirit is with us helping us along. Our Lord Jesus, according to the teaching we have in this magnificent chapter in John's Gospel, He is at the moment preparing a place for everyone of His redeemed folk in glory and we are going to be in a 'MANSION', please note it is not a room. This mansion is being prepared for us by our dear Lord Jesus Christ, when He was here in time He always did everything in such a wonderful way, there are no half measures with The Master. So our 'Mansion', not a room, will go far beyond all our expectations - what a mansion it will be!

In 1 John c3 v2 we are told that, 'We Will be like Him', as I understand this we will be like Him but not identical. Our Lord will always be supreme, this to the glory of God The Father that goes a step beyond what we can now understand. Also we know that every knee will bow to our Lord Jesus, this will be in worship or judgment. Everyone will have to answer that vital question, 'What think ye of Christ?' Ones eternal destiny will be foxed on our reply

So Jesus is preparing a place for us, for all His redeemed folk in glory, while we give Him a place in our lives in time. Our Father God has done everything for us in our salvation, He gave everything in and through His dear Son, He has nothing more to give for our salvation, as taught in Hebrews c1 v2. So we should now serve our Lord to the best of our ability, firstly to serve Him through the worship of our redeemed hearts. The hymn by Graham Kendrick puts it so well when he wrote:

This is our God, the Servant King,

He calls us now to follow Him,

To give our lives as a daily offering,

Of worship to the servant King

We have nothing in ourselves to bring in worship the the Holy Lord God Almighty, the hymn writer A M Toplady wrote the words:

Nothing in my hands I bring,

Simply to Thy Cross I cling,

Naked, come to Thee for dress,

Helpless, look to Thee for dress,

Foul, I to the fountain fly,

Wash me Savior or I die

But I have to think hard when singing the words by Charles Westley who wrote:

Till we cast our crowns before Thee,

Lost in wonder, love and praise

My only crown is that of our dear Lord Jesus, it is His glory that should be expressed in our lives

So our Lord Jesus is now preparing a place for us in Glory, as we continue here in time to serve Him, we should live, move and have our being for our Lord's pleasure. Everything in our lives should be relative to The Master and in all things He should have the pre-eminence. What a difference this would make in our country, our towns, our homes and our lives if this were so. Our balance of payments would be a different story
