Jesus was unique, as one looks at the meaning of the word in the dictionary it is noted that it means Ôof which there is only one, unequalled, having no like or equal,Õ so our Lord Jesus is the ONLY one of His kind
When He was here in time there was no one who could equal Him, it is nonsense to suggest that a mere man could feed 5,000 men together with the women and children with a few fish and loaves of bread, but Jesus did it because He is the great God-Man. To think, with the human norm in mind, that by the spoken word a manÕs sight could be restored is a bit far fetched but GodÕs only begotten Son did it and then to claim that one had the power to still the waves in a storm is a little odd, but Jesus, by His spoken word did so, there was always power within the words to accomplish that for which they were sent. Our Lord Jesus was, and is, the wonderful God-Man, this is something that we cannot fully understand. In our consideration of this point, just think of the way in which Jesus was conceived and that He was without sin in any way, the impeccable Christ
He was unique right up to and beyond the period He spent in time when He went through death for each one of us. After our Lord Jesus had been crucified, after a sword had been pierced through His side to ensure that He was dead and after He had been placed in a sealed tomb He spoke to people, met with His disciples, had a meal with them and even entered a sealed room to show the occupants the marks of His crucifixion. Now our Lord still carries, in His eternal being, the marks of His experience at Calvary, we understand this from what happened on the occasion He met Thomas and of how our risen Lord is spoken of in the book of the Revelation
Yes, our Lord Jesus was and is unique, He still is the ONLY one of His kind and He is the only begotten Son of the Father, so He is indeed the Son of the living God, had He been the son of Joseph then He could not have been The Son of God. The words of Rufinus, the centurion, at the time of The Crucifixion must be noted. This man must have known so much of the life of Jesus, was there in Jerusalem during the Passion Week and as our Lord was crucified he declared, ÔTruly, this was the Son of GodÕ
Now our blessed Lord went through death, not into but through, to the wonder and glory of the resurrection on the third day. Our Lord is now at the right hand of The Father, crowned with resplendent glory, interceding for us and He is coming again - what a Lord we have, He is indeed unique, the ONLY One of His kind. Our Lord is all perfection, such a Lord, risen, righteous, controlling now and coming soon and one day there is going to be a ÔMeeting in the airÕ as we know from the Scriptures and we will see Him, the King of glory
